The Mystery Gretsch... I have done a huge amount of research on this guitar and am still at a loss of what it truly is. The sticker from the inside of the guitar with the model, serial ect has fallen off! the serial number stamp on the top of the headstock seems to have possibly been lost in the black refinishing that must have been done a long time ago as the greenish fading of the black paint and checking would suggest. The thinner neck profile also suggests a neck reshaping in its past. Codes on the volume and tone pots are dated at 1965. Non original parts include bridge, tuners and hard shell case. The Double Anniversary 6117 is the closest model i can connect this one to. Aside from the mystery of model and year of production this guitar has Mojo in spades and plays & sounds incredible.
